Prayer Of A Child

in our family, me and Hani used to take turns in praying before meals, before bedtime, or whenever we want to talk to God and then a d-group of mine, a home schooler parent, shared to me what she is doing in her family during praying time...each child (person/member) is assigned to pray for a specific topic/prayer concerns so that each of them will have their chance to say a prayer, a brilliant idea! i applied it to my kids and since then, TJ and Alex just love to pray and talk to God even by themselves especially when they have personal concerns, like being hurt while playing, when sick, when they want something or even when they saw an ambulance along the road - they knew someone is dying, they prayed and just everything in between.

we were at SM aura yesterday when Alex approached me and whispered something...

Alex: Mom, look, the little girl got slide and was hurting
Me: where?...oh, ok
Alex: (still looking at the little girl who was already crying so loud)...Mom, can we pray for the little girl and tell Jesus to remove the pain in her body?
Me: sure, come, lets pray now...(then we said a short prayer)
Alex: Mom, look at the little girl she's not crying anymore, Jesus removed the pain already (smiling widely)
Me: i smiled back :-)

whenever my children asked me to help them pray or to pray for them (just like the recent quarterly test of TJ where he asked me, his dad and alex to pray for him - alex prayed for his brother everyday, she told us), i was in awed of God's love, goodness and faithfulness to each one of us. I know that in their hearts, God is always first.

the Bible said in Proverbs 22:6, train up a child in a way he should go (and in keeping with his individual gift or bent), and when he is old he will not depart from it.

truly, God instructed us to be a childlike, for in their hearts, we will see an innocence and purity.

make a habit to pray to God in all your moves, your plans, and your dreams. He is there, always, to listen and answer all of your heart's desire :-)

stay blessed!
